Our Middle Atlas Tour offers diverse riding, enabling you to discover the spectacular scenery of the majestic Middle Atlas Mountain region of Morocco. This tour has the option of being a 5 or 6 day tour running between Ouarzazate and Fes or Fes and Ouarzazate. You will need to book your flights accordingly.
Day 1: Ouarzazate to Demnate
We start the day on fast flowing tracks heading north from Ouarzazate, and quickly climb the foothills of the High Atlas. A mixture of tarmac and track take us past some of the isolated villages of this little used Atlas traverse, ending our days ride in the market town Demnate.

Day 2: Demnate to La Cathedrale
Leaving Demnate we start climbing even higher to ride on more technical tracks which lead us into the beautiful Ait Bougmez Valley. A lunch stop in a delightful gite (hostel) near Zawyat Ahancal. A stunning afternoon ride in the lightly forested foothills of the High Atlas brings us to the La Cathedrale cliff where we will set up our bivouac for the night.

Day 3: La Cathedrale to Kerrouchen
An alfresco breakfast at our bivouac before continuing on high altitude mountain piste heading north east. A mixture of narrow country tarmac and pistes for the rest of the morning, before an enjoyable forest trail that brings us to the village of Kerrouchen, which marks the southern boundary of the spectacular Middle Atlas cedar forest. We continue for a few kilometers in the forest before arriving at our bivouac for a relaxing evening around the camp fire.

Day 4: Kerrouchen to Azrou
Start the day with an al fresco breakfast before continuing north on forestry roads for most of the morning. Some faster pistes on high altitude plains before looping back into the forest and arriving at the provincial capital of Azrou.

Day 5: (optional) Two forest loops around Azrou
For those who don’t want this experience to end, an optional extra days riding made up of two technical/off piste forest loops in the forests around Azrou.

Day 5/6: Azrou to Fes
We manage a bit more forest riding as we head north from Azrou along some enjoyable country lanes, which pass by the cherry orchards that this area is famous for, before coming out past the Dayet Aaoua Lake. We then descend to the town of Sefrou and complete the tour with a short half an hour run on tarmac into Fes for a mid afternoon finish.
