We didn't start Wilderness Wheels to be a tour company; we started it because we couldn't stay away from the desert. Based in Ouarzazate, the "Gateway to the Sahara," we have spent nearly two decades scouting every wadi, dune, and mountain pass in Morocco.
Our philosophy is simple: provide the most capable bikes, the most experienced guides, and a logistical backbone that allows you to get lost in the experience without ever being truly lost. From our first tracks in 2000 to our expansion into the frontiers of Saudi Arabia, we remain a team of riders dedicated to showing you the wild world as it was meant to be seen — from behind a pair of handlebars.

Sam Handley
Sam is the driving force behind Wilderness Wheels. A lifelong rider with a relentless passion for off-road exploration, he moved to Morocco nearly two decades ago to turn a love for the desert into a world-class adventure operation.
With a background rooted in mechanical engineering and years of navigating the most punishing terrains in North Africa, Sam doesn't just manage the office — he's often found in the workshop prepping the fleet or leading expeditions across the Sahara. Known for his "no-nonsense" approach to safety and his deep respect for local culture, Sam has built a reputation for delivering tours that are as technically sound as they are adventurous.
